How do companies benefit from online surveys?     By Coara Andrei

You are usually invited to take this survey based on the demographic information you provide when you register. You become a panelist who is accessed whenever a survey that requires your profile comes up. When you respond to a survey and fill in the questionnaire, then you become a ‘respondent’.

In market research terminology a respondent is a person who participates in the survey process and from whom information is sought in order to fulfill the objectives of a research project.

The company rarely uses your answers in isolation or individually. The answers of several respondents who correspond to a similar profile as you will be put together and analyzed to see if any patterns emerge from the analysis in terms of consumer behavior, buying patterns or opinions.

This analysis is thereafter used within the company by the management to make decisions on their marketing program, product features or the pricing of their products. The information that you provide is genuinely valuable for the company.

When companies tell you that your opinion counts you can be rest assured that it's not sales spiel. They really mean it. They are not trying to get you do something to take advantage of you. You opinion actually does count.

The companies are just trying to get to know you better. Each person that they get a response from represents hundreds of other people out there who are consumers of products and services just like you are.

They use the information that they gather to help them in many different ways-

How is all this relevant to online surveys?    By Coara Andrei

The consumer out there is also an active user of Internet and email services and online surveys are a relatively new way to reach out this consumer to get their views and understand them better.

At the end of the day, if a better understanding of the consumer enables better products and better sales, it also means better profits for the company. And, that’s why your views are so very important to the companies that create online surveys and they are willing to offer you a tangible compensation in return.

Your time is precious just as everyone else’s is. But with the Internet available, the companies are able to find a way into your home without overtly disturbing you. They  ask their questions online and you answer when you have the spare time. It’s really an ingenious way to collect research information!

        You decide

One of the unique features of online surveys is its non-intrusive nature.

It’s non-intrusive because you decide if you want to participate at all and you are the one who decides when and where to access the survey. You don’t have an interviewer chasing you! So, it’s non-intrusive. And you get an incentive to boot in the form of cash or free products.
Your time is your own and it is not dictated by an interviewer sitting there and reeling off questions when you’d much rather be somewhere else attending to some other pressing things.

Here are some cool tips we have sumed up to help you!

1. Sign up for a new email box for taking survey only, which will make management easier. Note!  Yahoo! and Hotmail are recommended.

2.Sign up as many survey companies as possible. The more companies, the more survey, and the much income! Some companies, however, are not very good, even SCAMS. They won't pay you until you make as much as $100, which may take more than one year. Anyhow, all the company listed on our site are carefully tested and enjoy good reputation. And what's more, we are compiling a fuller list of survey companies. So, just drop in when you have time!

3. Add the email of the survey company you sign up to your friend list, in case the survey invitation email are treated as spam. Strongly recommended!

4. Finish all your personal information after you sign up. Hey, this will take only a little time. But it does increase your chance of being invited. After all, the survey companies will think you are more serious compared to those who do nothing after sign up.

5. There is always a QUESTIONNAIRE in the beginning of a survey, asking some simple question like your gender, age, car or not. They use such QUESTIONNAIRE to select the right audiences for the survey. Sometimes you may be screened by such QUESTIONNAIRE eazily, but don't bother! There are much more chances coming. After all, you lose nothing but some minutes. Try to taking every suevey. The better record you have, the more chances will come to you. However, when you are asked if any member in your family is in a reaserch company, and you say YES, you will go! Definitely!

6. Check your mail box often and take the survy AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. For if the survey company get enough submitted survey from their member, the survey will close. And you will lose a chance of making money. Take GlobalTestMarket for example, their survey often closes the second day after the survey available, for they have a huge number of members wating to take survey.
